Empire Challenge Emmy Awards
The Madison Square Garden Network broadcast of the Unitedhealthcare Empire Challenge received its first New York Emmy in 1998. In 2002 the UnitedHealthcare Empire Challenge received it second New York Emmy Award for Live Sports Coverage – Single Program at the 45th Annual New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Awards Presentation. The category included the following single live sports program; New York Knicks – Patrick Ewing Returns, Baseball Returns (New York’s first baseball Game after September 11th) and Stephon Marbury’s 50 – point game. In 2009 the UnitedHealthcare Empire Challenge was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Live Sports Event. |
